1月31日，巴陵石化公司总经理朱建民当选湖南省第十二届全国人大代表。
当天下午，湖南省第十二届人大一次会议第四次全体会议进行大会选举，以无记名差额选举方式，选出119名应由湖南省选举产生的第十二届全国人民代表大会代表。会议应到代表768名，实到代表765名，符合法定人数。当大会宣布选举结果后，代表们报以热烈掌声，向当选的新一届全国大大代表表示祝贺。
